Getting Started with Beni
New here? Let’s cover the basics.

What is the Beni extension?

Beni is a free browser extension that helps you shop secondhand while browsing your favorite retail sites. See something you love on Nordstrom or Nike? Beni shows you the same (or similar) items from trusted resale platforms — often for less.

Wait… what even is a browser extension?

It’s a small add-on for your browser (like Chrome or Safari) that unlocks extra features. Think of it like a shopping sidekick — Beni adds resale options while you shop.

How do I use Beni?

1. Download Beni (Chrome/Safari). 2. Shop like normal on your favorite brands’ sites. 3. When you’re on a product page, click the Beni icon or widget. 4. Browse resale listings, pick your fave, click “View,” and head to the resale site to check out.

Where can I download Beni?

Currently available on desktop and iOS Safari. Android’s not supported yet — but we’re working on it!

Do I have to pay to use Beni?

Nope. Beni is 100% free. We make money through affiliate commissions when you purchase via one of our partner resale sites.

Shopping with Beni
Let’s talk resale listings, filters, and functionality.

On what sites can I use Beni?

Beni works on over 2,000 brand sites — from Gucci to Target to Revolve. We currently support clothing and accessories only.

What if Beni doesn’t work on my favorite brand?

No problem. Click the Beni icon and request support — we track every request and prioritize accordingly.

How does Beni find resale items?

When you're looking at a product, we capture info like the title, brand, and image. Our AI compares that to resale listings across 40+ marketplaces to find the closest match.

How does Beni decide what to show?

Each listing gets a “match score” based on relevancy — no SKUs in resale means our AI does the heavy lifting. The closer the match, the higher up it appears.

Can I filter the results?

Yes! Use filters to sort by size, color, brand, platform, authentication status, and returnability — so you can find exactly what you’re looking for.

Do you authenticate the goods?

We don’t sell anything directly, so we can’t personally guarantee authentication. That said, many of our partners do — and we flag authenticated items for you.

Can I return the items I buy through Beni?

It depends on the resale marketplace. Some partners (like The RealReal or ThredUp) offer returns. We tag listings with return policies so you can filter for them.

Sustainability & Impact
Why resale matters — and how we fit into the bigger picture.

How does Beni calculate sustainability impact?

TL;DR: We consider how long an item is kept in circulation and how buying secondhand offsets the impact of new production.

Why does buying secondhand matter?

The fashion industry is responsible for up to 10% of global emissions. Extending the life of clothing is one of the most effective ways to reduce that. Studies show if 1 in 5 items were bought secondhand, we’d make serious progress toward climate goals. Less waste, more style — literally.

Why does Beni exist?

Because the way we shop is broken. Our mission is to shift the default from buying new to buying better. We’re part of a growing movement working to turn our linear economy into a circular one — and make resale feel like the obvious choice.

Tech Specs & Support
Compatibility, privacy, and everything else.

Which browsers and devices is Beni compatible with?

Chrome and Safari. Android (coming soon... hopefully)

Is Beni available for Android?

Not yet — Chrome doesn’t support mobile extensions. But we hear you and we’re working on solutions. In the meantime, you can always use Beni on desktop.

What data does Beni collect?

We care about your privacy. Beni only collects anonymized data to improve your experience — and only on supported shopping sites.
