What’s the difference between the Beni Browser Extension and the Beni Mobile App?

‍

We get this question a lot. And we don’t blame you for asking because it’s a little confusing. The TLDR version is they both help you save money and shop more sustainably. They just do it a little differently.

‍

The Beni Browser Extension works on your browser - Google Chrome or Safari on your computer and just Safari on your phone (Android doesn’t currently support browser extensions on Chrome 🙄). It tags along with you while you shop. If you’re on a product page on one of the 4000+ sites that Beni works on and we find resale alternatives for that product, we’ll pop up to let you know where you can buy that item secondhand. You can think of the Beni extension as your personal shopping assistant who gives a you a friendly tap on the shoulder and points out where you can buy the things you want for less, in a more sustainable way. Pretty neat, huh?

‍

Let’s chat about the Beni Mobile App. First and foremost, you have to download the app to be able to set up and use the mobile extension. It’s a bit convoluted, but we don’t make the rules 🤷♀️🤷♂️. Once you have both the app and extension set up, though, the app becomes your one-stop-shop to see your saved Favorites and Search Alerts, as well as the place to access Beni Search. You can think of the app as a summary of each of your shopping sessions spent with the Beni browser extension. Also neat, right?

‍

So, basically, the extension goes shopping with you on a bunch of different sites on either your computer or your phone. It keeps track of the resale items you like, as well as the retail items you’re hoping to find secondhand one day. The app receives this information from the extension and organizes it for you to access at any time.
