How did you get started?

In 2003, Johanna Zlenko moved to Santa Barbara. In her freshman year at school, she helped open a vintage shop called “The Closet”. Within months, Johanna took over ownership of the fledgling business. In 2008, The Closet opened a second location in Westlake Village, CA, about 60 miles south of Santa Barbara, in Ventura County. In 2009 The Closet began doing business under the name “The Closet Trading Company™. In 2023, The Closet Trading Co “ TCTC” now has 7 locations around the United States, with franchise opportunities now available.
